Educating our youth in environmental and
humanitarian issues is of primary importance for
their future, and for the future health of our
planet, its natural cycles, and its biodiversity.
As individuals, no
matter where we live, we can, and should, all be part of
the global effort to care for and heal our environment. |
EARTH'S
TRUSTEES
- Hey, that's us!
Each and every one of us should be a responsible Trustee of the
Planet, by participating in environmental activities year-round
and incorporating good environmental living into our daily
lives.
In a message
received from a communication circulating our globe regarding
deforestation in the Amazon, were the following quotes, which
seem appropriate:
"All that is
necessary for the triumph of evil, is that good people
do nothing " |
|
Edmund Burke |
"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed
citizens can
change the world. Indeed it is the only thing that
ever has." |
|
Margaret
Mead |
We believe in
children and that young people are good, thoughtful, and want to
be committed to what is right and just. Given the knowledge and
the opportunities, and encouragement to stick by their
convictions and ideals, they can make a tremendous difference in
bringing about change for the betterment of the environment and
species, and for the future well being of our planet and its
inhabitants.
We thank all of you
who are out there helping to educate our young people, and
guiding and encouraging them in what is just and proper.
C'mon...

Seeking
Information
Many, many environmental websites, such as we have listed
throughout Eco-Pros and on our Great Links page, have sections
specifically for young people where you can find ideas for
environmental areas where young people can assist. Look into
these sites for Kids sections and pages focusing on "Where You
Can Help," " What Can I Do?," etc. We caution against children
submitting any personal data online, such as some sites request
before voting on issues. Other sources for environmental issues
suitable for youth involvement can be found through
environmental organizations operating in your area, such as the
Sierra Club and Audubon Society, nature conservancies, etc. The
online environmental news networks can be great sources of
information where young people can develop an interest in a
particular subject and want to seek further information about
it. These articles can spark an awareness of a situation or
environmental issue which may exist locally in their community that they would want to become involved with.
Eco-Pros is developing a
Good News page where we will publish news
stories about helping the environment. We
want to hear from you. Click
