SWAMPS

Wetland habitats in the southeastern U.S. are home to alligators, which can live as long as 30 years.  This large reptile is basking in the sun.  The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service regulates the legal trade in the skins of alligators, in order to protect the illegal harvesting of crocodiles and cayman whose populations are declining.
